Carmen's Gelato – Authentic, Creamy Gelato & Sorbetto in Homer, Alaska

Hands down the best gelato I have ever had! They had multiple flavors to choose from and multiple sizes that you could get as well as serving sorbetto for those that are dairy intolerant. I got a pistachio, and it was so rich and delicious. The prices were incredibly reasonable for gelato. I definitely recommend the spot for an after dinner sweet treat or any kind of craving that you might have for delicious gelato.

What a delight! One of the best gelato I've had in the US, pretty comparable to gelato from Italy. You know you are getting the real deal here. Tried the pistachio flavor. None of the fake green coloring. This stuff was legit. We also tried the vanilla. Was delicious. Service was quick, you pick your order and pay at the counter. There was outdoor seating and ample parking nearby. Highly recommend this gelato shop! Must visit!

Absolutely and positively the best gelato I have EVER had! The salted caramel with Alaskan sea salt is a definite must! SOOO creamy, buttery, and tangy. You don’t believe your taste buds! We came back twice.

Carmen's Gelato is amazing! They have many good flavors. ~ they have the option to purchase a pint and recently learned you can request flavor combination for it if you would like. ~I am lactose intolerant and am so glad they have dairy free options! They have strawberry, mango, dark chocolate that is sooo good it is very smooth and rich. I usually buy a pint of it to take home when I go there. There's a 4th dairy free flavor I'm forgetting. ~ It's a very small indoor space, so you go in the front entrance and go right to left from requesting your flavor/ flavor combo and size to paying to exiting at the side. You shouldn't really stop inside so that there's enough room for people to pass through the line and also maybe get closer to see the sign. ~ There is a small steep ramp to get inside, which a wheelchair user can navigate with some Oomph or assistance from someone getting a push. There is also a small ramp at the side exit. I am a wheelchair user and can get in. However I have energy issues so often I request a push to get in. ~ it's a small but very clean and efficient space. The staff are always cordial and kind and also offer samples to try before settling on flavor or flavor combo.

When we were in Homer, I went here 2-3 times a day for espresso and gelato. Extremely amazing, which is a significant understatement. Also, give staff a raise they are all stellar. 1000/10 stars.

Best ice cream we've tried in the US so far...not sticky sweet and amazing flavors,including local - we tried salmonberry, macadamia w/birch syrup, and our fav was their staple roasted pecan. Thank you for a high quality product and great service !

Carmen is world renowned for his authentic and modern takes on Italian gelato. The staff are friendly and quick, the espresso is strong and pulled well, and the space, while limited, is clean and functions very well. Be mindful that it does come in half pints if you want to take some home, though it will be difficult to serve it at the authentic temperature provided at the store front. Don't miss out on the chocolate noir, a dairy free chocolate, but even as a dairy fan I would say you do not want to miss that rich chocolate experience. Try asking the staff to mix it in half with another flavor that tempts you to elevate your experience.

Fantastic Gelato. Best we’ve had in the US. The Maple Brown Butter Pecan is truly award winning. A must stop along the Homer Spit. Flavors in the image are the Wild Blueberry Sorbetto & Maple Brown Butter Pecan and Espresso & Chocolate Mascarpone
